HISTORY
In 1981, William T. White, Jr. initiated a community golf tournament to bring friends and family together to raise funds to support the American Cancer Society. The tournament was named in his memory after he lost his battle with leukemia in 1993 and remained so named through 2017.
After honoring longtime American Cancer Society volunteer Kathy Mignin in 2017, Bill and Susan White and the Executive Committee agreed to change the name of the event going forward to the American Cancer Society Windy City Golf Open to honor all of those currently fighting cancer and memorialize those that lost their battle.
